Our Planet pillar guides aspects of Action’s strategy towards a future full of opportunities. We want to reduce our environmental impact and work towards a resilient and climate change proof Action. In 2023, we will continue with mapping our scope 3 emissions, lowering our absolute emissions from our own operations, improving our waste management by using our new portal and taking the next steps in implementing the TCFD.

Looking forward

We will implement biodiesel HVO for all our 150 self-owned trucks that deliver to stores from our Dutch DCs. In 2023, we will add more electric trucks to our fleet to gain experience, and learn how we should further implement electric transport.

The TCFD was formed by the Financial Stability Board, an international body that seeks to strengthen and protect global financial markets from systemic climate change risk. The TCFD is focused on climate-related risk assessment, which is complementary to the GRI framework that Action uses to report about sustainability impact. Together the two frameworks give insight into how Action can reduce its impact on the environment and how Action can adapt to sustainability risk.

TCFD results

Action is now at the beginning of a journey to deepen the understanding of, and response to, climate change. This year we started working with the framework from The Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) to embed climate-related risk in our ASP strategy.
