Action marked the official opening of its first gas-free DC at Illescas in central Spain in June 2025. Illescas has been certified ‘Outstanding’ by BREEAM, one of the most widely recognised environmental standards for buildings. Illescas delivers to more than 200 Action stores in Spain and Portugal and has solar panels, LED lighting, charging stations for electric cars, as well as smart energy and water management systems.
Illescas, which began operations in late 2024, now acts as a model for all future Action DCs, including the three that began operating during 2025, at Wallersdorf in Germany (certified DGNB Platinum by the German Sustainable Building Council), Dunikowo in Poland, and Novara in Italy.
