Case Study

Fair pay is a core part of Action’s Ethical Sourcing Policy. We respect minimum wage legislation, and we expect our suppliers to do the same.

We set out clear standards for our suppliers. When we discover these standards are not being met, we act quickly. In September 2025, a spot check at a factory in Pakistan found workers were being paid 25% less than the country’s minimum wage. The factory was making bedsheets for our Hotel Royal and Hoodadoo brands. Two months earlier, Pakistan had raised its monthly minimum wage for unskilled workers to 40,000 rupees, but the factory was still paying the old rate of 30,000 rupees.

Shipments from the factory were suspended until we were sure our supplier had rectified the situation and paid workers their missing wages. We returned to the factory in December to speak with workers. We also carried out other spot checks to make sure our factories in Pakistan were paying the correct minimum wage.
