Some suppliers use homeworkers to help make products such as handmade decorative items. Often homeworkers are paid based on the number of items they produce. We recognise that homeworkers may be subject to unsafe working conditions, long hours and low pay, which would be in breach of our Ethical Sourcing Policy. For this reason, we are developing a policy covering homeworkers. This policy will require suppliers to declare if they are using homeworkers and to ensure these homeworkers have the same protections as those working in factories, warehouses or offices.
